Almost 9am on the first day of our big trip... Shockingly for me, I've been up for an hour, unloaded the last of the "not wanted on the voyage" crap from the car, and now I'm waiting for my sleepy ginger to arise and help me get us loaded up and on the road. This first leg of the journey is going to feel very crowded, as we're bringing the big bass with us down to PDX where it will live for the rest of the summer. I'm not really looking forward to 6 hours with one of us always in the back seat, but it is what it is, and we're almost on our way!

So here we are at Adam's mom's place in Portland. Surprisingly, the highway was busy the whole way down - what was going on in Tacoma that everyone wanted to go there at 3pm on a Monday afternoon? But we made it, had a lovely dinner and are now back at the ranch. Going to have a relaxing evening, repack the car tonight or tomorrow, and after dropping Sarah off at the airport tomorrow afternoon, we'll be hitting the road for real! So excited!
